This is the first interim report prepared by a project team working under CEN/ISSS contract no. TMS/MUS/97/228.
The project is carried out according to a standardisation mandate forwarded on 13th September 1995 from the European Commission Directorate General III Industry to CEN/CENELEC/ETSI in the field of Information Technology and Telecommunications. The reference number is SOGITS N 884.
The project is informally called "Cultural Heritage Information On-line" (CHIO) and started in the beginning of 1997 and this Interim Report covers the results of the first two phases up to July 1997.
